Welcome to Katherine South Primary School!
Katherine South Primary School is a learning community that works together to achieve the best possible learning outcomes for students. We promote our core values to the school community and foster these in our students. Our values of Community, Achievement, Respect and Engagement are evident within the school environment. We realise students have different social and emotional needs and implement key social skills and wellbeing programs to enable all students to manage challenging situations.
We believe that all students can learn and strive to engage with students, staff, parents and the community to set personal goals to ensure they improve their learning outcomes. KSPS has an excellent reputation for providing a quality education from Preschool to grade 6. Our focus is quality explicit teaching and learning of Literacy and Numeracy. We ensure students have a variety of learning areas to access for a balanced education including, Science, History, SOSE, Interschool sport, Creative Arts, Indigenous Studies, Health and Physical Education as well as Technology. KSPS are innovative about engaging students in Literacy and Numeracy and have implemented ICT’s such as i-pads and applications, Interactive White Boards and Netbooks with interactive software to compliment student learning needs.
KSPS promotes parent and community involvement within the school. We take great pride in having supportive parents who visit classrooms to assist students learning, attend school events, are members of our school council or volunteer to help out with particular school needs. The strong school spirit and collaboration make Katherine South Primary School a great place to learn and work.
